DIRECTOR

Sheila began her career in Anne at the Charlottetown Festival and has gone on to work around the world in theatre, tv and film. Directing credits include Brighten Beach Memoir, Steel Magnolias and Myth of The Ostrich [HFN] to name just a few. She won 2 Best Actress awards for I’ve Heard The Mermaids Singing and Lotus Eaters, 2 Gemini awards for Emily Of New Moon and Sesame Street, 2 Dora awards in Toronto and Actra film award for Cardinals.  Her film Women Talking was nominated for Best Film at the Oscars. She is shooting a netflix series now Copenhagen and The Miniature Wife. 

PLAYWRIGHT

Kristen, a playwright, actor and director based in Ontario, began her writing career in 2014 and has since become one of Canada's most produced playwrights. She is best known for her comedic plays, including Where You Are, which has been translated into four languages and produced across Canada, in the United States, and Europe; Hurry Hard; Beyond the Sea; The Rules of Playing Risk; and Sugar Road.
She is a two-time recipient of the Playwrights Guild New Comedy award, first in 2016 for Gibson & Sons and again in 2019 for Hurry Hard.
Her work is published by Scirocco Drama.

as MAGGIE

Lauren is all verve + vigor upon returning to Here For Now! It’s one of her fave places to make art, having previously appeared in The Myth of the Ostrich, Ale Wives, and The Tracks. Some other appearances include Urban Ink, Citadel Theatre, National Arts Centre, Arts Club Theatre, Belfry Theatre, Western Canada Theatre, Drayton, Thousand Islands Playhouse, Firehall Arts Centre, + Royal Manitoba Theatre Centre. Lauren co-owns the Great Wall Tea Company, and is a passionate supporter of Action Canada and the other organizations comprising the UN’s Sexual Rights Initiative. Recreationally, Lauren loves horror movies and drinking tea, often at the same time. Huge thanks to Fiona, Siobhan, and Sheila. And thank YOU for supporting the arts!

as BRANDON

Dominic got his start in professional theatre at the Stratford Festival in 2022 as the Young Duke of York in Richard III. He has since performed Chip in Mavis’s production of Disney’s Beauty and the Beast, as well as various roles in Frankenstein the Musical and the Palace Theatre’s production of the Donnellys. In 2023, he starred as Marco in short film A Playdate with Death. Dominic is a talented musician with 8 years of violin, and 4 years of piano experience. He attends a public school for the arts, training in vocal, dance, acting, violin and piano. Dominic speaks french and loves to code and make music.

as GARFIELD

Scott has starred on Broadway in Lost In Yonkers, Anna Karenina, Getting Married, and Welcome To The Club, for which he was nominated for a Tony Award. In 27 seasons at the Stratford Festival, he has played Macbeth, Iago, Shylock, James Tyrone in Long Day’s Journey Into Night, Tevye in Fiddler On The Roof, and many more. He recently played Henry in The Lehman Trilogy for St. Louis Rep, King Lear for Shakespeare BASH’d, and appeared in the world premiere of Bob & Jean: A Love Story at the Arizona Theatre Company.

STAGE MANAGER

Jocelyn is a young, queer canadian performer based out of Stratford, ON. She is thrilled to be joining the Here For Now Theatre. She wants to thank her family and friends for their continuous support in her career, and for always believing in her dreams. As always, thank you for supporting the arts, and for supporting young artists! Mwah!!

LIGHTING DESIGN

Louise Guinand is a lighting designer who has designed lighting for over 600 shows. Her work has been seen on stages across Canada. She delights in the ever changing nature of the theatre and the discoveries every new space and production brings. Louise is pleased to be part of Here For Now’s first indoor season in a brand new theatre. 

SET & COSTUME DESIGN

Patricia Reilly (she/her) is an Ontario-born, B.C. and Alberta-raised theatre artist. Patricia holds theatre art degrees from Red Deer College, the University of Victoria, and the University of the Arts, London. Upcoming work includes the costume designs for The Art of War at the Stratford Festival and Chemainus Theatre Festival’s winter production of Elf:The Musical. The Rules of Playing Risk is Patricia’s second production with Here For Now, and first in the new, indoor venue! Online at www.patriciareilly.com
