DIRECTOR

Peter is an acclaimed theatre director who has worked with Canada’s leading theatre companies. Here in town, Peter has directed Hamlet, A Midsummer Night’s Dream, and Love’s Labour’s Lost for the Stratford Festival. He has directed several world premières of new plays, including the international hit Late Company by Jordan Tannahill. Most recently Peter directed The Seafarer starring Paul Gross at Alberta Theatre Projects. Peter is also a filmmaker. His most recent short film, The Understudy, was shot entirely in Stratford and has won several international film festival awards. Peter is thrilled to be making his Here For Now debut.

PLAYWRIGHT

Jill is one of the original co-creators and performers of the internationally acclaimed plays: Mom’s the Word, Mom’s the Word 2: Unhinged, Mom’s the Word: Remixed, Mom’s the Word: Nest 1⁄2 Empty, and Mom’s the Word: Talkin’ Turkey. The Mom’s scripts have been translated into 10 languages, seen by over two million people and played in over 19 countries. Forget About Tomorrow is inspired by the experiences Jill lived and witnessed, struggling to come to terms with her beautiful husband’s Alzheimer’s diagnosis, as they searched for laughter in the most unlikely of places.

COMPOSER

John passed away in 2019 after a diagnosis of early-onset Alzheimer’s disease. He was a founding member of the beloved Canadian band, Spirit of the West. He was also an actor, solo artist and OBC recipient. With nearly 300-recorded songs, one in particular, “Home for a Rest”, has become a multi-generational favourite, known by millions and often called Canada’s unofficial national anthem. After his diagnosis, John worked with the Alzheimer Society of Toronto to create fundraising concerts to fund music programs for people living with Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia. The inspirational film Spirit Unforgettable chronicles John and the band’s final year performing and is available for free on YouTube.

Kevin has just completed a successful run of Talk Is Free Theatre’s production of Cock by Mike Bartlett in Toronto that also toured to Japan.  After performing in the Mirvish production of Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, Kevin was seen in Sequence at the Thousand Island Playhouse and last year spent a glorious summer in B.C. with the Caravan Stage Company.  He’s spent 5 seasons at the Stratford Festival, 7 seasons at the Shaw Festival, been in over 20 productions for Soulpepper and has performed in many theatres across Canada, including the Grand Theatre and the Blyth Festival, in an almost 40 year career.  Kevin is thrilled to be working for Here For Now Theatre.

Geoffrey is a Stratford-based actor, director and educator. He is honoured to be back with HFN. As an actor, he has worked from BC to Nova Scotia – including the Stratford and Charlottetown Festivals, Mirvish’s War Horse, and many Canadian premieres, including the Governor General’s Award-winning  If We Were Birds. More recently, he originated the roles of Maurice and Talbot in Marcia Johnson’s Serving Elizabeth. Directing credits include Canadian premieres of Kate Hewlett’s The Swearing Jar, nominated for two GGs, and Brendan Gall’s A Quiet Place, for which he received a Dora Award nomination. Geoffrey lives in Stratford with his dog, two kids, and wife, Madeleine Donohue, who is an award-winning writer and creator for children’s television.

Annie is an international theatre maker, puppeteer, teacher and long-limbed clown, thrilled to be returning to her hometown as part of the 2025 Season with HFN. Graduate of École Jacques Lecoq, she is co-founder of French/Norwegian company, Théâtre Amok which toured their award-nominated clown show, THE VOID, across Europe/UK in 2024. She has worked most notably with the Paris Opera, Three Ships Collective, DopoLavoro Teatrale, Bad New Days, and Farmgate Theatre. Having a passion for teaching, Annie also offers courses in clowning, puppetry, theatre and kundalini yoga. She dedicates this show to her grandmother, Annie Rajczak.

Pamela is an award-winning actress and writer. Pamela’s recent play NEW was finalist for the 2024 Governor General’s Award for Drama, and her debut solo play Crash received multiple Dora Awards including Outstanding New Play, Performance by a Lead Actress. CRASH (Scirocco) was also included in anthologies Audition Speeches and, Love, Loss and Longing and had its Off-Broadway debut at the Signature Theatre, NY. Her second play Happy Place premiered at Toronto’s Soulpepper with productions at Touchstone Theatre and Prairie Theatre Exchange. NEW had its World premiere at Royal MTC followed by Canadian Stage in 2023, co-produced by NA. Pamela’s film adaptation of Happy Place was produced by Sienna Films and she is currently working on an adaptation of NEW as a screenplay. Her new play, Rebel Royals, is supported by Tarragon Theatre.

Sam is proud to be back at Here For Now for another season after stage-managing Paul and Linda Plan a Threesome and The Saviour in 2024.  Previously, he stage-managed Where the Heart Is at the Victoria Playhouse Petrolia. A Mitchell, Ontario native, Sam is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Arts in English at McGill University in Montreal. He has made the rounds of McGill’s theatre scene, acting in several student plays and recently directing a production of Company. He would like to thank the HFN team and his family for their support.

Louise Guinand is a lighting designer who has designed lighting for over 600 shows. Her work has been seen on stages across Canada. She delights in the ever changing nature of the theatre and the discoveries every new space and production brings.

Jung A Im is an emerging set and costume designer based in Stratford. Jung A grew up and worked professionally as a designer in Seoul, South Korea, and came to Canada in 2018 to study set and costume design at NTS.
