You are allowed to erase the memories of the people who told you that you are a bad artist. They lied to you. They were wrong. You can help release these voices from your mind by doing exactly what they told you not to do - make Art. When you nurture your artistic interests, the possibilities of self-discovery, self-love and community bonds can be endless. Sing. Dance. Paint. Play. Write. Create. Anything. A person in our history books once told us that “comparison is the thief of joy.” Another creative person said that, “every child is an artist. The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up.” May these words bathe our ears and wash away the voices that told us that we shouldn’t, that we couldn’t make Art. Whatever Art means to you, make it. Make it for no other reason than to help you feel something. You are allowed. You are an artist.
